Trade shows are still one of the best ways to get your brand in
front of new customers, whether you cater to businesses or
consumers. You'll have the opportunity to be seen by hundreds,
even thousands, of people in just a few short hours. The only
trouble is those people are also meeting dozens of exhibitors.
How will they remember your brand, when they're immersed in a sea
of new names?

Sponsorship Offers Unique Opportunities - And Challenges

As a trade show sponsor, you have plenty of options to get your
name in front of attendees and exhibitors. Your company's logo on
signage, programs, and website banners are a given. You may
provide the bandwidth for the event's online requirements, or
even earn a seat on the planning committee. Those are great
placements, but they're temporary. For long-term results, you'll
want to offer visitors something they can take with them.

Practical Giveaways Bring Repeat Business

There is plenty of swag you can offer trade show attendees. But
if all you're providing are clever throwaway items, your gift -
and your brand - is destined for a dark kitchen drawer. Instead,
make sure you offer your guests an item they can use for months
or years to come - something that reminds them of your company

Lanyards are a popular item recipients will be inclined to use
well after the trade show ends. Not only will they serve to
identify you as a sponsor during the event, but afterwards
they're great for holding a single key around your neck when out
for a walk or even as a handy cell-phone carrier. Best of all,
they offer lots of space to display your company name, logo, and
message.

Key chains are another favorite giveaway, and they make it easy
to turn your brand into something memorable. Every time your
potential customer unlocks her house, starts her car, or opens
her locker at the gym, she sees your brand. As anyone who can
still sing all the words to the Oscar Mayer commercial will tell
you, there is power in repetition.

When deciding on a giveaway, there are a few tips to keep in
mind. First, you want it to be small and lightweight enough to be
easily stored and carried into the trade show. It also needs to
be economical - remember, this is only one part of your
sponsorship budget. Finally, it needs to be a quality piece. You
won't make a good impression if your logo is marred by peeling
paint or other defects.

When choosing a vendor, be sure to look for one that offers free
artwork and design, custom color matching, and fast shipping.
Also, you want your giveaway to be as useful as possible to your
new customers, so look for a manufacturer that offers your choice
of attachments. Finally, don't sacrifice speed for cost. Look for
suppliers who offer quick turnaround, because knowing your
giveaway will arrive on time means one more thing you can
