We've been discussing cord blood on another moms group that I belong to-and I was able to pass on our discount of $750 to many moms, so I figured I'd repost the discussion & discount info here as well. It may be useful to expectant moms. Happy to pass it on! ;-)

I've been meaning to write into the group sooner about cord blood, but as you
all know when you have a baby....the days fly by and sometimes nothing gets done
;-)

My husband and I did A LOT of research deciding if we were going to store cord
blood or not. The deciding factor for us was that your baby's cord blood will
never expire, so you can use it not only immediately, but to prolong life a the
end of life (siblings can use it as well, and sometimes mom & dad are able to as
well). Many life threatening diseases are currently being treated with stored
stem cells, and with all the progress they are making with the stem cell
research -it may be able to cure things like Alzheimers, Diabetes, many cancers
etc...in the future.

Anyway-you should definitely do your own research & see if it is right for you.
If you decide that you want to store cord blood-and want to go with CBR-I can
share our $750 Discount Code with everyone. Apparently, the highest published
discount they can give without the code is $250. A doctor friend of ours helped
us get signed up for the discount, and I signed up to be a CBR parent, so I can
pass it on to any friends (in return I believe they send us a $50 gift card) but
the discount is the largest available, and can make the initial investment a lot
more affordable (collection, courier, and 1st year storage)
After that it's only $125 a year to store, and apparently CBR's storage facility
is in a location where it's least like to to have a natural disaster like an
earthquake.
