Susan,
Many distributors from all different companies in this industry leave out the company's name because of the bad rap companies get.
It is known as Attraction Marketing.
There are plenty of people that practice bad behavior when conducting business. They give their companies they represent a bad name.
Then there are the people who recruit others into a business, yet they know nothing about coaching and marketing, and many times this leads to failure on both ends.
Also...there are the people that start a home business and treat it like a hobby. They are not willing to do the work and quit when they are not producing results.
They end up blaming the coach/sponsor and the company and start a negative campaign against them.
I am an independent agent for AFLAC in NJ. A little different because I actually work out of an office and many of my leads are provided by the company.
But...my husband and I are Herbalife distributors. My husband runs our entire operation and he uses the attraction marketing approach.
The reason...he wants the prospect to get to know him first. That is why he has a blog and uses social networking like Facebook, Twitter and many more to connect & take the time to learn about the person who is interested in the business.
Believe me, it has worked. When people search his name in search engines, they learn all about him and his accomplishments.
When you search a company's name you find...
The negatives about that company. People do fail and people blame people.
So many coaches market themselves, would you want to work with someone that actually know what they are doing?
So if you look up my husband, for example. Tommy DiPietro, you will find>>>
• His business blog
• Facebook page
• Affiliation with our local Chamber of Commerce (member of the exec board)
• Info on his blog being voted #10 in the Top 50 M LM blog contest
• Interviews
• Videos being selected as featured trainings in top home business magazines.
Do you see the difference?
Treat it like a business, it will reward you like a business. Treat it like a hobby and don't expect to get rewarded.
Hope I shed some light on the subject.

I do have a question for those who work with melaluca. In all my searching I keep running across many different melaluca reps. Why is it, that on the actual website no one wants to actually say hey this is for Melaluca. All the websites says is that it is a wellness business. It's almost like they are trying to keep there name a big secret unless you want to spend the time to call them. Just curious.
